I used a DSL connection at 10Mbps

I was recently in Brazil. I used a DSL connection at 10Mbps. Speedtest.net quoted the speed at almost 11Mbps. Speed was constant, the connection was very, very reliable, and of course, always active. The best part? No traffic management whatsoever. No limits. It was „all you can eat” kinda broadband. I could download whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, and whichever amount I wanted, the connection was always performing at the speed I paid for (actually even 1Mbps faster). This was on a family home we own there. I paid for 10Mbps, and received it, any time of the day. No traffic shaping, no throttling, no bandwidth limits, no download limits, and for only R$69 including phone line rental with 10.000 minutes, 50 being to mobiles and the rest to the same provider’s landlines, also 500 minutes to any other provider’s landlines, and 50 minutes to long distance calls, and remember that it’s only R$69 which is around £25. In the UK, I have 10Mbps from Virgin Media, and I pay £25 with no line rental. It’s cable, so supposed to be better than DSL. It’s so crap, I can’t even start talking about it. I pay an absurd price for what I get: traffic shaping during almost every hour of the day, my connection is always under performing (speed test is always showing around 8Mbps) and I tested this with the same router (I took my router there to test the speed and see if it was the router messing my speed), I also get constantly throttled to 2.5Mbps for a minimum of 5 hours for downloading more than 3GB… In a home with an Xbox, two computers, and on an age where we watch loads of videos, use larger email attachments, play games, download music, 2.5Mbps after 3GB is just pathetic! Customer service is crap. In Brazil, I needed to ask a question and I was talking to a brazilian person who fully understood me, and helped me quickly and effectively without being patronising. In the UK, I’m always routed to India. I hate to talk to people in India because they aren’t here, they don’t care about me or the issues with my broadband, it’s not their country and they don’t live here so why should they care at all if they’re not part of the system and they won’t use the horrible service we get? I am really getting tired of seeing a „first world” country saying that they will boost broadband speeds, but then they will throttle you to 1Mbps after you download 1GB, or cap your connection so you can only download a certain amount. Who cares if the speed is 300Mbps if you’ll never gonna be able to use it? They won’t give you all that speed, all major providers, including BT, throttle their broadband, so what you essentially pay for isn’t given to you. So screw this „news”, basically. Big numbers don’t mean a thing when they put loads of crap on the terms and conditions using the tiniest letters telling you that you can have 300Mbps as long as you don’t use your computer. I’d rather be able to fully utilise my 10Mbps connection, without restrictions, throttling, or capping, then having 300Mbps for the first 100MB and then getting my speed reduced to a crawl.

Monitor nie został wyposażony w cyfrowe wejście DVI, co jest istotną wadą. Częściowo rekompensuje ją bardzo niska cena urządzenia.
